  • ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should possess the following:

    1.    Candidate MUST possess Medical Degree, such as MBBS, MD, MBChB or equivalent qualification accepted by the University Senate and is registered with the Malaysian Medical Council [MMC]
    • Refer MMC’s portal for the list of recognized institutions https://mmc.gov.my/medical-education-recognition/
    • Candidates holding degree from unrecognized institutions are required to sit and pass the Malaysian Medical Qualifying Examination [MQE] prior admission 
    2.    Candidate MUST also possess at least 2 years experience after graduation, either in hospitals or other institutions certified and accepted by the University Senate
    • Extra requirement for M.S [Neurosurgery]
    Candidates must also possess 12 months of experience working in varying surgical specialties of which General Surgery is compulsory for at least 6 months in duration and Neurosurgery compulsory for at least 12 months duration. These attachments must be done in a hospital or institution certified and accepted by the University Senate and/or the by the Ministry of Health Malaysia after completion of Housemanship
     
    3.    Local candidates are also required to attend a pre-test/interview before the final selection
     
    4.    Foreign candidates are required to go through a 3 to 6 months clinical attachment and assessment at the respective department prior admission
     
    5.    Candidate MUST also in good physical and mental condition
  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    (Applicable for International Applicants Only)

    • A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Cambridge English: Advance (CAE)/Proficiency (CPE) /Preliminary (PET) /First (FCE)/ Linguaskill Online; or
    • A minimum score of 47 for Pearson Test of English (PTE); or
    • A minimum of Band 107 for CIEP Level (ELS); or
    • A minimum of Band 3.5 for Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

    Exemption CAN BE CONSIDERED to candidate if:

  • OVERVIEW

    A 4-year postgraduate programme. Graduate in this programme will be conferred Master of Medicine (Transfusion Medicine). The main aim of offering this programme is to produce Transfusion Medicine Specialist. 

    Graduates of this programme will be able to function more effectively in the Transfusion Medicine Department. They will be able to perform tasks in the field of transfusion medicine, stem cell transplant, organ transplant and cord blood storage. Graduates would be capable of playing an active role in research and contribute further towards the Research and Development in Transfusion Medicine.     This programme aims to produce graduates who:

    • Are highly competent clinical neuropsychologists and able to apply their knowledge and provide services in various relevant agencies
    • Are recognized by the Malaysian Allied Health Profession Act 2016
    • Are able to practice as consultant clinical psychologists

    The programme will be conducted at USM@KL and/or Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris - Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, Proton City, Tanjung Malim, Perak.
