  • OVERVIEW

    This programme is the first forensic science programme offered in Malaysia. It is a very popular programme and is in high demand among prospective students. Students will be exposed to the latest knowledge and technologies in the field of Forensic Science via courses which have been developed meticulously. Teaching staff of the School together with others from the Medical and Dental Schools of USM, Department of Chemistry Malaysia, the Fire and Rescue Department, and the Royal Malaysia Police will ensure the programme to run smoothly and in an excellent manner. This programme is expected to help cater for the national requirements for forensic scientists needed in the country.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • • Pass SPM/SPMV or an equivalent qualification with Credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia/Bahasa Malaysia (July Paper) and Mathematics, and a Pass in History.
      • Obtain at least Band 2 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or an equivalent qualification within one (1) year from the date of enrollment.
      Note:
      Passing the History subject at the SPM level has been a requirement since 2013.
    • • Have at least five (5) years of continuous work experience in a related field such as Forensic Science, Health Sciences, or Investigation, including roles like Police Officer, Firefighter, Science Assistant Officer, Health Inspector, Medical Assistant, Nurse, and similar professions.
      OR
      • Have at least three (3) years of work experience in a related field if the recognized Diploma CGPA in the relevant field is below 2.75.
      AND
      • Obtain at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) within one (1) year from the date of enrollment.

      • Excel in the interview assessment.
