Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) offers USM+1 as a direct intake pathway for Malaysian students under the Full Paying Fees scheme. This channel provides an alternative opportunity for qualified applicants to pursue undergraduate studies at USM outside the regular UPU admission system.

USM+1 is designed for applicants who meet the academic entry requirements and wish to gain admission directly into USM through a flexible admission pathway. Under this channel, students are required to pay the full tuition fees without government subsidy. A wide range of programmes from various disciplines are offered through USM+1 for selected academic sessions.

Although applications are submitted directly to USM, the admission process, academic requirements, eligibility criteria, and selection standards are aligned and standardized with the UPUOnline system to ensure quality and consistency in student selection. Through this pathway, USM continues to provide broader access to higher education while maintaining its academic standards and excellence.
