  • OVERVIEW

    Research Thrust Areas:

    Our postgraduate programme in Archaeology inspires you to study about the major developments in human past from a systematic and analytical perspectives. You will be taught a variety of practical archaeological techniques and pick up problem solving and team-working skills which are transferable to other types of career.

    CGAR offers MA in Archaeology research programme as full-time and part-time modes and involves the completion of a thesis on a particular aspect of Archaeology.

  • ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should possess the following:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in related fields (minimum CGPA 2.75/4.00) from institutions recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
    • Applicants with CGPA less than 2.75/4.00, who have related work experience and publications may be considered.
    • Application for admission opened throughout the year
  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    (Applicable for International Applicants Only)

    The minimum score for each programme can be vary from the below list, candidates are required to check for each programme requirements.

    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
    • A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
    • A minimum score of 47 for PTE; or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Cambridge English (CAE/CPE); or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Linguaskill Online; or
    • A minimum of Band 3.5 for MUET

    Exemption is given to candidate if:

    • English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
    • Candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and/or Master degree level is English (statement of proof required)

    • Full-time: 1 - 3 years (2 - 6 semesters)
    • Part-time: 2 - 6 years (4 - 12 semesters)
