OVERVIEW
The Building Surveying Programme in the School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia aims to produce competence Building Surveyors who are able to function efficiently as members of the construction industry. Building Surveying is a rapidly growing profession in Malaysia and its services are highly needed in all economics and development situation. Its scope begins from the very early stage of planning a development project to construction management, building pathology and forensic, maintenance and up to conservation of historical building. Career as a professional Building Surveyor includes every aspect of a building life cycle from its planning stage to restoration, demolition and redevelopment. A qualified Building Surveyor can work at Government/Semi-Government Departments such as Local Authorities, higher learning institutions or at private sector organizations such as developers, financial and banking institutions, consultant firms, insurance companies and research organizations.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM) DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS STPM:i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
AND
ii. Obtain at least a Grade B (NGMP 3.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:
- Geography
- History
- Economics
- Visual Arts
- Business Studies
- Accounting
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Mathematics M / Mathematics T
AND
iii. Pass SPM or its equivalent, with passes in English, Mathematics, and any one science / technical / vocational subject.
KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM):i. Pass Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
AND
i. Pass the MOE Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75- Chemistry

DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS:A Diploma in Building Surveying / Built Environment recognized by the government, or an equivalent qualification recognized as such, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
(Candidates with a CGPA below 2.75 but above 2.00 must have a minimum of one year of working experience in the field of Building Surveying / Built Environment.)OR
Pass A-Level with a minimum score of 9 and obtain at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:
