  • OVERVIEW

    The primary objective of this programme is to provide students with various aspects of animals and plants biodiversity, including preservation of biodiversity, deforestation, pollution, encroachment, habitat loss, and the potential for species extinction. The subject matter covered including but not limited to ecological systems, classification and evolutionary relationships of plants and animals, physiological and developmental processes, economic aspects of botany, invertebrate and vertebrate zoology, genetic and genomic of plants and animals, interactions between animals and plants, and fundamental principles underlying animal behaviour.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
      STPM:

      i. Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.

      AND

      ii. Obtain at least Grade B (NGMP 3.00) in Biology.

      AND

      iii. Obtain at least Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) in one of the following subjects:
      • Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics T
      KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Pass the KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.

      AND

      ii. Obtain at least Grade B (3.00) in Biology.

      AND

      iii. Obtain at least Grade B- (2.67) in one of the following subjects:
      • Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics
      Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others:

      Possess a Diploma in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Fisheries/ Information Technology/ Medicine/ Medical Laboratory/ Laboratory Technology/ Pharmacy/ Agriculture/ Medical Sciences with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.

      OR

      Obtain a minimum score of 10 in A-Level and at least Grade B in Biology.

      AND

      Obtain at least Grade C in the following subjects:
      • Mathematics / Further Mathematics
      • Chemistry

      OR

      Obtain a minimum score of 28 in the International Baccalaureate (IB) and at least a score of 4 at the Higher Level (HL) in the following subjects:
      • Biology
      • Chemistry

      AND

      Obtain at least a score of 3 at the Standard Level (SL) in the following subjects:
      • Mathematics Analysis and Approaches / Further Mathematics / Physics

      OR

      Obtain a minimum aggregate of 68 in AUSMAT/SAM and at least Grade C in the following subjects:
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Mathematical Studies

      OR

      Possess other equivalent qualifications recognized by the university and approved by the Senate.
