US6421003 - BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN ENTOMOLOGY AND PARASITOLOGY WITH HONOURS

  • OVERVIEW

    Entomology and Parasitology emphasize on biology of insects and their relationships with the disease parasites or pathogens that they transmit. Students acquire knowledge on the structure and function, life history, ecology and vector and parasite behaviour that will assist in the understanding of disease epidemiology as well as various management strategies. The structure of the programme also emphasizes on the management of pests such as insects, rodents, termites, and cockroaches that are relevant to the pest management industry, especially the application of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). In addition, topics in medical and veterinary parasitology are applied to provide students with knowledge and skills in understanding parasite infection.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • Kelayakan Minimum STPMKelayakan Minimum Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTMKelayakan Minimum Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain
      Kelayakan Minimum STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the subject of Biology.

      AND

      iii. Obtained at least a Grade B- (CGPA 2.67) in the following subjects:

      • Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics T

      Note:
      The candidate must not have a visual impairment (color blindness) or any physical disability that may hinder practical work.
      Kelayakan Minimum Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM:

      i. Passed Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the subject of Biology.

      AND

      iii. Obtained at least a Grade B- (CGPA 2.67) in the following subjects:

      • Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics

      Note:

      Kelayakan Minimum Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain:

      Diploma in the fields of Microbiology / Biotechnology / Fisheries / Information Technology / Medicine / Medical Laboratory / Laboratory Technology / Pharmacy / Agriculture / Medical Science with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      OR

      A-Levels with a minimum score of 10 and obtained at least a Grade B in the subject of Biology.

      AND

      Obtained at least a Grade C in the following subjects:

      • Mathematics / Further Mathematics
      • Chemistry

      OR

      International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 28 and obtained at least a score of 4 at Higher Level (HL) in the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry

      AND

      Obtained at least a score of 3 at Standard Level (SL) in the following subjects:

      • Mathematics Analysis and Approaches / Further Mathematics / Physics

      OR

      AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate score of 68 and obtained at least a Grade C in the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Mathematical Studies

      OR

      Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University.
