  • OVERVIEW

    Bachelor of Music with Honours is a 3 ½ year program offered by the School of The Arts, Universiti Sains Malaysia. The programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in music to succeed in the music industry.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM)DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS
      STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination with a minimum CGPA of 2.00

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects.

      AND

      iii. Possess at least one of the following qualifications:

      • Grade 5 Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music, London (ABRSM) / Trinity College London
      • Sijil Yamaha Certificate Grade 7
      • LTCL / ATCL Diploma from Trinity College London
      • Grade B- in Music at the SPM level
      • Other recognized Music Certificates

      AND

      iv. Achieved at least Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.

      AND

      v. Excellent in the interview and talent/skills.

       

      Note:

      • Priority will be given to candidates who are skilled in playing a musical instrument.
      • Candidates must not have any visual, hearing, or speech impairments.
      KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Passed Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)  with a minimum CGPA of 2.00

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C (2.00) in any two (2) subjects.

      OR

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C (2.00) in three (3) subjects at the TESL Foundation level at UiTM.

      OR

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C (2.00) in three (3) specialized subjects at the Law Foundation level at UiTM.

      AND

      iii. Possess at least one of the following qualifications:

      • Grade 5 Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music, London (ABRSM) / Trinity College London
      • Sijil Yamaha Certificate Grade 7
      • LTCL / ATCL Diploma from Trinity College London
      • Grade B- in Music at the SPM level
      • Other recognized Music Certificates

      AND

      iv. Achieved at least Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.

      AND

      v. Excellent in the interview and talent/skills test.

      DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS:

      Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00

      OR

      A-Level with a minimum score of 9 and obtained at least a Grade C in any two (2) subjects.

      OR

      International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 26 and obtained at least a score of 4 in any combination of two (2) subjects at the High Level (HL) and one (1) subject at the Standard Level (SL).

      OR

      AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate of 68 and obtained at least a Grade C in any two (2) subjects.

      Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University.

      Possess at least one of the following qualifications:

      • Grade 5 Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music, London (ABRSM) / Trinity College London
      • Yamaha Certificate Grade 7
      • LTCL / ATCL Diploma from Trinity College London
      • Grade B- in Music at the SPM level
      • Other recognized Music Certificates

      AND

      Achieved at least Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.

      Excellent in the interview and talent/skills.
