OVERVIEW
This programme is the first forensic science programme offered in Malaysia. It is a very popular programme and is in high demand among prospective students. Students will be exposed to the latest knowledge and technologies in the field of Forensic Science via courses which have been developed meticulously. Teaching staff of the School together with others from the Medical and Dental Schools of USM, Department of Chemistry Malaysia, the Fire and Rescue Department, and the Royal Malaysia Police will ensure the programme to run smoothly and in an excellent manner. This programme is expected to help cater for the national requirements for forensic scientists needed in the country.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM) DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS STPM:i. Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics T
AND
iii. Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET or an equivalent qualification.
KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM):i. Pass the KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade C+ (2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
AND
iii. Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET or an equivalent qualification.
DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS:Possess a Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
OR
Pass A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and obtain at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Pass IB with a minimum score of 24 and obtain at least a score of 4 at the Higher Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Pass AUSMAT / SAM with a minimum aggregate of 45 and obtain at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Possess other qualifications recognized as equivalent and endorsed by the University Senate.
AND
Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET or an equivalent English language qualification.
