  • OVERVIEW

    The Diploma in Nursing Program at Universiti Sains Malaysia provides theoretical knowledge and clinical training in nursing sciences, behavioral sciences, biological sciences, and clinical experiences in the field of nursing. The curriculum of this program emphasizes interactive teaching and learning, alongside exposure to clinical settings at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital and clinics under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, following the academic standards set by the Malaysian Nursing Board. This program produces graduates who will become safe, responsible, and ethical practitioners dedicated to advancing the nursing profession.

    Duration : 3 Years / 6 Semesters 
    Semester Offered : Semester 1 (October)

  • REQUIREMENTS

      • Pass SPM / Equivalent
      • Credit in the subject of Malay Language / Bahasa Melayu July Paper
      • Pass in the subject of History
    • Pass SPM/SPMV with THREE (3) credits in the following subjects:
      • Malay Language
      • Mathematics (Modern / Additional)
      • Science (Science / Biology / Chemistry / Physics / Applied Science / Additional Science)

      AND

      ii. Pass in TWO (2) of the following subjects:
      • English Language
      • Any one (1) other subject

      AND

      iii. Achieve excellent performance in interview assessment

      Note:

      Candidates must meet the following health status requirements:
      • All candidates must be certified healthy by a Registered Medical Officer within one month of enrolling in the nursing program.
      • Candidates are not allowed to enroll in the nursing program if they have the following health issues:
        • HIV/AIDS
        • Hepatitis B
        • Hepatitis C
        • Mental health disorders
        • Epilepsy
        • Color blindness
      • Candidates must not have any physical or sensory disabilities that would hinder nursing skills performance.
