  • OVERVIEW

    Entomology and Parasitology emphasize on biology of insects and their relationships with the disease parasites or pathogens that they transmit. Students acquire knowledge on the structure and function, life history, ecology and vector and parasite behaviour that will assist in the understanding of disease epidemiology as well as various management strategies. The structure of the programme also emphasizes on the management of pests such as insects, rodents, termites, and cockroaches that are relevant to the pest management industry, especially the application of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). In addition, topics in medical and veterinary parasitology are applied to provide students with knowledge and skills in understanding parasite infection.
