  • OVERVIEW

    This program aims to provide educators who are able to lead, innovate, and commit to addressing the needs of students with special needs (SEN) in line with the Malaysian Special Education Philosophy. This program also aims to produce educators who have broad and deep knowledge of teaching and learning theory and best practices in special education.

    This program can also produce professional educators who can educate students with special needs (SEN) especially in courses related to Learning Disabilities, Visual Impairment, and Hearing Impairment. Students in this program are also required to undergo Internship and Teaching Practicum.

    This program aims to produce educators who are able to use information and communication technology (ICT) and assistive technology (AT) and are able to apply it in the teaching and learning process; as well as making networking with the government, private sector, industry and community. Therefore,this program aims to produce educators who can plan, evaluate, publish, and disseminate knowledge through research in the field of special education to meet the aspirations of the national and international society.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • • Pass SPM / SPMV or an equivalent qualification with Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia / Bahasa Malaysia (July Paper) and Mathematics, and a Pass in History.
      • Obtain at least Band 2 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or an equivalent qualification within one (1) year from the date of enrollment.
      Note:
      Passing the History subject at the SPM level has been a requirement since 2013. 
    • • PRIORITY will be given to candidates with qualifications in Science and Arts subjects or other relevant additional qualifications.
      AND
      • Have at least five (5) years of work experience in a related field.
      AND
      • Pass the university qualification examination as specified by the university.
      AND
      • Pass the MEDSI test and excel in the interview assessment.  
      AND
      • Obtain at least Level 3 (Band 3) in MUET or an equivalent qualification.
      AND
      • Have no physical disabilities or health issues that may affect studies and the teaching profession.
