Master of Science (Epidemiology)

  • OVERVIEW

Master of Science (Epidemiology) by Research Mode is a graduate program designed for students interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in the field of epidemiology, with a focus on research and the study of disease patterns, causes, distribution, and prevention within populations. The program is ideal for individuals who are passionate about public health and wish to pursue careers in epidemiological research, disease surveillance, and health interventions.

Students can explore various topics within Epidemiology, including:

    • Infectious Disease Epidemiology: Studying the epidemiology of infectious diseases (e.g., malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, influenza) and strategies for prevention, control, and eradication.

    • Social Epidemiology: Studying the social determinants of health, such as income, education, race, and access to healthcare, and their role in health disparities and outcomes.
    • Molecular and Genetic Epidemiology: Investigating the role of genetics and molecular biology in the distribution and causes of disease, including genetic susceptibility to diseases.
    • Global Health Epidemiology: Focusing on the global distribution of diseases, public health challenges in low- and middle-income countries, and strategies for international disease prevention.
    • Chronic Disease Epidemiology: Understanding the risk factors, prevention, and epidemiology of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.
