OVERVIEW
The Bachelor in Nursing is a four-year (8 semesters) programme offered by the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia Health Campus.The programme provides theoretical and clinical education to produce nurses of calibre, innovative, proactive, with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum covers Biological Sciences, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Clinical Skills, Computer Skills, Research and Scientific Writing Skills, Communication and Information Distribution Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills, Co-Curricular Activities, Social Skills as well as Teaching and Patient Management Skills. These components are incorporated into the nursing curriculum to strengthen the basic knowledge of nursing practice. In addition, it improves the nursing profession at par with other healthcare professions. Scientific knowledge and evidence-based can aid in promoting competent, independent and safe practitioners.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM) DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS STPM:i. Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:• Biology• Chemistry• Physics• Mathematics TAND
iii. Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) Examination or an equivalent qualification with a credit in any one (1) of the following subjects:• Science• Biology• Chemistry• Physics• Applied ScienceAND
iv. Obtain a credit in English and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or an equivalent qualification.
AND
v. Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET / a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 / a minimum TOEFL score of 515 (paper-based) / 215 (computer-based) / 80 (internet-based).
AND
vi. Excel in the interview assessment.
Note:
Candidates must meet the following health requirements:
• All candidates must be certified medically fit by a Registered Medical Officer within one month of enrolling in the nursing programme.
• Candidates are not allowed to enroll in the nursing programme if they have any of the following health conditions:
- HIV / AIDS
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Mental Health Disorders
- Epilepsy
- Colour Blindness
• Candidates must not have any physical or sensory disabilities that could hinder their ability to perform nursing skills.

Pass IB with a minimum score of 26 and obtain at least a score of 5 in two (2) Higher Level (HL) subjects and one (1) Standard Level (SL) subject from the following:• Biology• Chemistry• Physics• MathematicsOR
Pass AUSMAT / SAM with a minimum aggregate of 55 and obtain at least Grade C in any three (3) of the following subjects:• Biology• Chemistry• Physics• MathematicsAND
Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or an equivalent qualification with at least a credit in one (1) of the following subjects:• Science• Biology• Chemistry• Physics• Applied ScienceAND
Obtain a credit in English and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at SPM or an equivalent level.
AND
Attained at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET), or a minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 515/215/80 in TOEFL.
AND
Excel in the interview assessment.
