OVERVIEW
Speech pathology is a health science profession that deals with the identification, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and management of communication disorders (disorders of language, speech sounds, fluency, and voice) and swallowing problems.
This is a 4-year professional programme that provides students with theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in speech pathology. Students will undertake programme core courses that cover topics on communication sciences and disorders, medical and health sciences, linguistics, education, psychology, and research, plus several elective and university courses. The students will also have to accumulate 400 clinical educational hours and 250 clinical contact hours during clinical years, i.e., from Year 2 to Year 4 and to complete a research project during the final year.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM) DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS STPM:i. Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics T
AND
iii. Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET or an equivalent qualification.
AND
iv. Excel in the interview assessment.
KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM):i. Pass the KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade C+ (2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
AND
iii. Obtain at least Band 3.0 in MUET or an equivalent qualification.
AND
iv. Excel in the interview assessment.
DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS:Possess a Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
OR
Pass A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and obtain at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum total score of 24 and obtain at least a score of 4 at Higher Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Pass AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate score of 45 and obtain at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Biology

- Physics / Mathematics
OR
Possess other equivalent qualifications recognized as equivalent and endorsed by the University Senate.
AND
