  • OVERVIEW

    The Master of Arts in Educational Technology is a research programme that is offered throughout the year. The programme is offered in full-time and part-time modes, to qualified Malaysian and International Students to do independent research supervised by their respective lecturers in the field of educational technology. As the field of educational technology is dynamic, new areas/fields of study are always emerging as newer technological tools and developments become available. Upon graduation, students may be employed as teachers, lecturers, trainers, instructional designers, etc. in both the public and private sectors.

  • ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should possess the following:

    A. Bachelor's degree in related area

    1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or

    2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least one year; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least one year; or
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    3. CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least five (5) years; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least five (5) years; AND
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    Note:

    All international candidates are required to attend interview session conducted by the school.

  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    (Applicable for International Applicants Only)

    The minimum score for each programme can be vary from the below list, candidates are required to check for each programme requirements.

    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
    • A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
    • A minimum score of 47 for PTE; or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Cambridge English (CAE/CPE); or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Linguaskill Online; or
    • A minimum of Band 3.5 for MUET

    Exemption is given to candidate if:

    • English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
    • Candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and/or Master degree level is English (statement of proof required)

  • OVERVIEW

    Master of Arts (Education) Mixed Mode Program aims to promote the professionalism of teachers, teacher trainers, educational administrators and professionals in educational-related services. This program is intended to produce graduates with deep understanding of content knowledge, theories, developments and issues in respective speacialisation areas in education; and who also possess skills to conduct critically reflective education-related research. In total, 11 areas of educational specialisation are offered in this program:

    5. Educational Psychology
    6. Educational Technology and Multimedia
    7. English Language Education/TESOL
    8. Malay Language Education
    9. Mathematics Education

    Applicants can choose the area of specialisation according to their interest and qualification. This program comprises of 50% coursework (20 units) and 50% research (20 units). For the coursework component, students need to complete 3 general courses and 3 specialisation courses. For the research component, students need to complete a dissertation of 25,000 to 30,000 words. The duration of study for full-timers is 1 to 2 years, while for part-timers is 2 to 4 years. Lectures and tutorials are conducted in the evening, between 5pm and 10pm.

  • OVERVIEW

    The research mode for Master of Arts in Communication cater to students who possess a strong theoretical background and wish to undertake independent research. Candidates will complete their theses by working under the supervision of one or more faculty members. Masters candidates are required to present their proposal within six months of their registration date, whereas the Doctoral candidates are required to present their proposal within one year of their registration date.
