  • OVERVIEW

    In response to numerous requests from industries and addressing the shortage of qualified engineers in IC design, Collaborative Microelectronic Design Excellence Centre (CEDEC) offering a new degree programme leading to the award of Master of Science in Microelectronic Engineering. 

    Course Structure

    First Semester

    Core Courses (8 units)

    Elective Courses (4 units)

    • Semiconductor Devices and Solid State Technology

    Audit Course (3 units)

  • ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should possess the following:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.75/4.00
    • CGPA below the above range, can be considered with additional requirements
    • Passed interview (applicable for International candidates)

    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or

    The River Engineering and Urban Drainage Research Centre (REDAC) offers a graduate programme encompassing several areas pertaining to River Management at the Doctor of Philosophy levels. These areas are River Management, Urban Drainage Management, Hydro informatics and Environmental Hydraulics Management. This programme is open to all students of USM or other universities, local or international, who are qualified to pursue their graduate studies through research mode.

    1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or

    2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least one year; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least one year; or
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    3. CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least five (5) years; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least five (5) years; AND
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

  • OVERVIEW

    The School of Aerospace Engineering was established on the 1st March 1999, in realizing the need to produce aerospace engineering graduates with high expertise, creativity, and societal values, and competent in following the rapid technology development in aerospace industry. The School offer postgraduate studies by research in various fields of Aerospace Engineering, leading to the Ph.D. These programmes are offered either in full-time or part-time basis. 

    The research programmes at the school specialise in the areas of Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Aerospace Structures, Aerospace Composite Technology, Propulsion, Aerospace Control and Astronautics.

    The degree can be pursued under the supervision of at least one academic staff of the School, in which the candidate is required to complete the research study within a stipulated time period, as specified below.
