OVERVIEW
The Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree programme was launched by the School of Management in 1999. It is recognised under Part I of the First Schedule, Accountants Act 1967. This means that graduates will be recognised as Chartered Accountants by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) after gaining three years of relevant working experience under the MIA's Chartered Accountant’s Relevant Experience (CARE) programme. The programme is also recognised by other Malaysian and international professional accounting bodies.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM) DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS STPM:i. Pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade B (NGMP 3.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Malay Language
- Geography
- History
- Economics
- Accounting
- Business Studies
- Biology
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics M / Mathematics T
AND
iii. Obtain at least Grade B in Principles of Accounting at SPM level.
AND
iv. Excel in the interview assessment.
KPM MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION STUDIES (UM/UKM/UiTM):i. Pass the KPM Matriculation / UM Foundation / UKM Foundation / UiTM Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
AND
ii. Obtain at least Grade B (3.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Chemistry
- Biology
- Physics
- Mathematics
AND
iii. Obtain at least Grade B in Principles of Accounting at the SPM level.
OR
ii. Obtain at least Grade B (3.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- Accounting
- Financial Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Business Management
- Business and Technology
- Economics
- Mathematics
OR
ii. Obtain at least Grade B (3.00) in three (3) specialization subjects from the Foundation in Law programme.
AND
iii. Obtain at least Grade B in Principles of Accounting at the SPM level.
AND
iv. Excel in the interview assessment.
DIPLOMA / EQUIVALENT – A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, AND OTHERS:Possess a Diploma in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
OR
Pass A-Level with a minimum score of 9 and obtain at least Grade C in any three (3) of the following subjects:- Literature in English
- Economics
- Accounting
- Business Studies
- Sociology
OR
Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 28 and obtain at least a score of 4 at the Higher Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects:- English
- Economics
- Business and Management
AND
Obtain at least a score of 4 at the Standard Level (SL) in Mathematics.
OR
Pass AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate of 68 and obtain at least Grade C in any three (3) of the following subjects:- English
- Economics
- Accounting
- Business Management
- Mathematics
OR
Hold other qualifications recognized as equivalent and endorsed by the University Senate.
AND
Obtain at least Grade B in Accounting at the SPM level if there is no equivalent qualification in Accounting at the Diploma, A-Level, IB, AUSMAT/SAM, or other recognized qualification levels.
AND
Excel in the interview assessment.
