Master of Science (Chemical Pathology)
Master of Science (Chemical Pathology) by Research Mode is a specialized graduate program aimed at students interested in conducting in-depth research in the field of chemical pathology. This program focuses on the study of biochemical processes in the body, particularly related to disease diagnosis, metabolic disorders, and clinical laboratory practices. It is ideal for individuals who want to pursue careers in clinical chemistry, laboratory research, or medical diagnostics.
Students can explore a variety of research topics within Chemical Pathology, including:
- Biochemical Markers in Disease: Investigating the role of biochemical markers (enzymes, hormones, lipids, proteins, etc.) in the diagnosis and management of diseases.
- Metabolic Disorders: Researching the biochemical pathways involved in metabolic disorders such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and lipid disorders.
- Clinical Chemistry: Investigating the biochemical analysis of body fluids (blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid) for disease diagnosis, including novel diagnostic methods and techniques.
- Molecular Diagnostics: Exploring the use of molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, gene sequencing) in diagnosing metabolic and genetic diseases.
- Kidney and Liver Diseases: Researching biochemical markers used to diagnose and monitor kidney and liver diseases, including acute and chronic conditions.
- Cardiovascular Biomarkers: Studying the role of biomarkers in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension, atherosclerosis, and heart failure.
- Endocrine and Hormonal Imbalances: Exploring biochemical changes in endocrine disorders, such as thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, and adrenal disorders.
- Immunochemical Assays: Researching the development and improvement of immunoassays for disease detection, including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) and immunohistochemistry.
- Toxicology and Drug Monitoring: Studying biochemical methods for detecting toxic substances or monitoring therapeutic drug levels in patients.
- Nanotechnology in Chemical Pathology: Investigating the use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in the detection of biomarkers and the development of novel diagnostic tools.
