  • OVERVIEW

    The Master in Bioprocess Technology is a mixed mode programme designed to develop your bioprocessing related scientific and analytical skills for a professional career in the government or private sectors. It is an interdisciplinary program that combines the natural and applied sciences within a technology-based multidisciplinary framework.

    Career Prospects 

    By obtaining this master's degree, you widen your career opportunities. In the research field, you can be a quality control technologist or academician. In business, you can be a consultant or product manager. This master's degree will also allow you to proceed to a Doctorate (PhD) in diverse fields such as in the Sciences, Engineering, and Technology.

    The Program Structure 

    Classes and laboratory sessions are held on weekdays, after office hours. Registration is open one time a year, every October. You can register in the first semester.

    To graduate, you would need to complete 40-unit courses, which cover core and elective; 36 and 4 units, respectively. You need to take all core courses (a total of 33 units), but you can choose one out of the two elective courses (a total of 4 units).

    A typical full-time program consists of one year (two semesters); each semester would be 18 weeks or four months long.

    A. Bachelor's degree in related area (Science or Technology) (Bioprocess, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Bioscience, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Genetic, etc.)

    1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or
    2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or

    Programme Aims

    MSc GeoDRR aims to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, competitive, principled and skilled in the theory and practice of Geomatics/Geospatial in dealing with an organization’s disaster risk reduction needs.

    Program Education Objectives for MSc GeoDRR are:

    • Competent graduates in theory, interpretation, methods and techniques related to the applications of GIS & remote sensing in disaster risk management.
    • Graduates who are able to conduct research using the latest GIS and remote sensing technology in disaster risk management.
    • Graduates who have good communication skills and demonstrate leadership qualities in disaster risk management.

    Programme Learning Outcomes

    Students who enrol on this Master's Degree program will have in-depth knowledge of subjects related to disaster risk reduction. Students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes at the end of the program. This program is offered to prepare graduates who are able to use scientific knowledge and analytical skills to make decisions in solving problems related to the field of disaster risk reduction. Graduates of this program will be able to assume management responsibilities in carrying out technical assignments.

  • OVERVIEW

    A research degree is awarded primarily on the basis of a thesis embodying the results of a research project and any coursework topics (when necessary) or other formal studies required by the University and the School of Computer Sciences to be undertaken during the candidature period.

    The degree can be pursued under the supervision of at least one academic staff of the school. Under this mode of study, the candidate is required to complete a thesis within a stipulated time period. Usually, full-time candidates for M.Sc. complete their thesis in 12 - 18 months and for Ph.D. in 30 - 40 months.
