Drama and Theatre

Each year, the Drama and Theatre Department admits a small group of students who display not only practical creativity but academic capability as well. Postgraduate students will be introduced to an alternative of semi-practical and/or theoretical degree courses in which the Department specialises, notably within the practice of history, theory, traditional and modern drama and theatre, children’s theatre, and dance. Postgraduate candidates for both MA and PhD program will embark on research in these various specializations.

• A Master’s degree in related area with CGPA 3.00/4; or
• A Master’s degree in related area with CGPA 2.50-2.99/4 with additional requirements; or
• Bachelor’s degree in related area with minimum CGPA 3.67/4 (fast-track to PhD)

• A minimum score of 46 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
• A minimum of Band 8 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
• A minimum of Band 5.5 for IELTS; or

The research mode for Doctor of Philosophy cater to students who possess a strong theoretical background and wish to undertake independent research. Candidates will complete their theses by working under the supervision of one or more faculty members. Doctoral candidates are required to present their proposal within one year of their registration date.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in fine arts by research at the School of the Arts train students to produce thesis and dissertation that challenge the established aesthetic, formal and conceptual principles in art history and criticism. Our degree is recognised internationally and therefore equips our graduates for global employment in the field of art history and criticism.

Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting are research programmes offered throughout of the year. These programmes are offered as full-time and part-time modes to qualified Malaysian and International Students to do independent research supervised by their respective lecturers in the field of accounting.
