    The USM Quantity Surveying programme is dynamic and comprehensive, emphasizing financial and contractual management, including cost estimation, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and project cost control, alongside advanced topics like computerized measurement, value management, and sustainable construction practices.

    The programme, aimed at producing knowledgeable and technically competent graduates, fosters problem-solving skills in the Quantity Surveying discipline while developing leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities for professional engagement in the built environment. It integrates sustainability into research, lifelong learning, and entrepreneurship, supporting career growth.

    It has full accreditation from the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM) and prestigious institutions such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This accreditation ensures international recognition and unlimited opportunities.

      • Students gain foundational knowledge of the principles of Quantity Surveying, including the profession's roles and ethics, basic building construction methods and services, and the quantification of construction works using industry standards. This is delivered through a mix of theoretical and practical learning experiences.
      • Students delve deeper into measurement techniques and construction project cost management, covering cost estimation, budgeting, payment, and other aspects of cost planning and control.
      • Students will attend Compulsory Practical Training, which provides real-world industry exposure, bridging academic knowledge with professional practice.Students will also be introduced to digital construction practices.
      • The focus shifts to advanced Quantity Surveying readiness, where students apply their knowledge to comprehensive research projects. They develop skills in leadership and problem-solving while addressing global challenges in construction. Students also gain valuable international exposure by exploring global construction practices and trends.
