  • OVERVIEW

    The School of Aerospace Engineering was established on the 1st March 1999, in realizing the need to produce aerospace engineering graduates with high expertise, creativity, and societal values, and competent in following the rapid technology development in aerospace industry. The School offer postgraduate studies by research in various fields of Aerospace Engineering, leading to the Ph.D. These programmes are offered either in full-time or part-time basis. The research programmes at the school specialise in the areas of Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Aerospace Structures, Aerospace Composite Technology, Propulsion, Aerospace Control and Astronautics. The degree can be pursued under the supervision of at least one academic staff of the School, in which the candidate is required to complete the research study within a stipulated time period, as specified below.

    • A Master's degree in research mode; or
    • A Master’s degree in related area with CGPA 3.00/4; or
    • A Master’s degree in related area with CGPA 2.50-2.99/4 with additional requirements; or
    • Bachelor’s degree in related area with minimum CGPA 3.67/4 (fast-track to PhD)

    A. Bachelor's degree

    1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or

    2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least one year; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least one year; or
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    3. CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or

  • OVERVIEW

    School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia is among the most active and productive schools in this university when come to postgraduate research. Researchers from this school have received numerous awards and recognitions from national and international bodies. The School has several programmes that provide postgraduate research opportunities in topics across the broad spectrum of chemical engineering. It has regularly attracted research students from academia, industries, research institutions and governmental departments either locally or abroad. The School offers master and doctorate programmes (by research) that lead to Master of Science (MSc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering, respectively.

    The programmes are run by highly qualified and experienced academicians who have high level of technical expertise in their respective fields. The postgraduate studies could either be in full-time or part-time basis. In generally, the studies will involve literature review, proposal presentation, planning and conducting of experimental works, modelling and simulation works, preparation and submission of research articles and finally thesis submission for examination.   • OVERVIEW

    Master of Science (MSc) – Civil Engineering post-graduate programmes are research based programmes offered by the School of Civil Engineering. The programmes aim to produce research scholars who are capable of advancing knowledge and educating future scholars for the benefits of mankind. Students enrolled in these programmes are required to complete an original research of high quality in the form of a thesis under the supervision of an appointed academic staff as main supervisor. Supervision of research study may also be assisted by appointed co-supervisor(s). The award of MSc degree is decided based on a viva-voce to be conducted after a thesis is submitted for examination. The research studies for MSc degree cover all major disciplines in civil engineering: environmental engineering, geomatic engineering, geotechnical engineering, highway and transportation engineering, structural engineering, water resources engineering and management in engineering.   • ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants should possess the following:

    A. Bachelor's degree

    1. CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or

    2. CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least one year; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least one year; or
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    3. CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or

    a) Research experience for at least five (5) years; or
    b) Work experience in related field for at least five (5) years; AND
    c) At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
    d) Grade B for major / elective courses; or
    e) Grade B+ for final year project

    B. APEL A (Level 7)

  • LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    Applicable for international students

    • A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
    • A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
    • A minimum of Band 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (Online); or
    • A minimum score of 154 for Cambridge English: Advance (CAE)/Proficiency (CPE) /Preliminary (PET) /First (FCE)/ Linguaskill Online; or
    • A minimum score of 47 for Pearson Test of English (PTE); or
    • A minimum of Band 107 for (CIEP Level) ELS; or
    • A minimum of Band 3.5 for Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

    Exemption CAN BE CONSIDERED to candidate if:

    • English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
    • Candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and/or Master degree level is English (statement of proof required)
