  • OVERVIEW

    This programme is the first forensic science programme offered in Malaysia. It is a very popular programme and is in high demand among prospective students. Students will be exposed to the latest knowledge and technologies in the field of Forensic Science via courses which have been developed meticulously. Teaching staff of the School together with others from the Medical and Dental Schools of USM, Department of Chemistry Malaysia, the Fire and Rescue Department, and the Royal Malaysia Police will ensure the programme to run smoothly and in an excellent manner. This programme is expected to help cater for the national requirements for forensic scientists needed in the country.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
      STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics T

      AND

      iii. Achieved at least Level 3 (Band 3) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.
      KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Passed Matriculation Program (KPM) / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      AND

      iii. Achieved at least Level 3 (Band 3) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.
      Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others:

      Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75

      OR

      Passed A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and at least a Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Passed the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 24 and at least a score of 4 at the High Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Passed AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate score of 45 and at least a Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University.

      AND

      Achieve at least Level 3 (Band 3) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.
    • STPMMatrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTMDiploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain
      STPM:

      i. Lulus Peperiksaan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 2.75

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (NGMP 2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics T

      DAN

      iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf.
      Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM:

      i. Lulus Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 2.75

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      DAN

      iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf.
      Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain:

      Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 2.75

      ATAU

      Lulus A-Level dengan memperolehi minimum skor 10 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      ATAU


      Lulus International Baccalaureate (IB) dengan memperolehi minimum skor 24 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya skor 4 di peringkat High Level (HL) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics


      ATAU

      Lulus AUSMAT/SAM dengan memperolehi minimum agregat 45 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      ATAU

      Mempunyai kelulusan lain yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya dan diperakukan oleh Senat Universiti.

      DAN

      Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf.
