  • OVERVIEW

    The Bachelor in Nursing is a four-year (8 semesters) programme offered by the School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia Health Campus.The programme provides theoretical and clinical education to produce nurses of calibre, innovative, proactive, with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The curriculum covers Biological Sciences, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Clinical Skills, Computer Skills, Research and Scientific Writing Skills, Communication and Information Distribution Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills, Co-Curricular Activities, Social Skills as well as Teaching and Patient Management Skills. These components are incorporated into the nursing curriculum to strengthen the basic knowledge of nursing practice. In addition, it improves the nursing profession at par with other healthcare professions. Scientific knowledge and evidence-based can aid in promoting competent, independent and safe practitioners.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
      STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics T

      AND

      iii. Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with a Credit in any one (1) of the following subjects:

      • Science
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Applied Science

      AND

      iv. Achieved Credit in both English and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent.

      AND

      v. Attained at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET), or a minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 515/215/80 in TOEFL.

      AND

      vi. Excellent in the interview.

       

      Note:

      Candidates must meet the following health requirements:

      • All candidates must be certified as medically fit by a Registered Medical Officer within one month prior to enrolling in the nursing program.

      • Candidates are not permitted to enroll in the nursing program if they have the following health conditions:

        • HIV / AIDS
        • Hepatitis B
        • Hepatitis C
        • Mental Health Disorders
        • Epilepsy
        • Color Blindness

      • Candidates must not have any physical or sensory disabilities that could impede the ability to perform nursing skills.
      KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Passed the Ministry of Education Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Programs (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics

      AND

      iii. Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia  (SPM) or its equivalent with a Credit in any one (1) of the following subjects:

      • Science
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Applied Science

      AND

      iv. Achieved Credit in both English and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent.

      AND

      v. Attained at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET), or a minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 515/215/80 in TOEFL.

      AND

      vi. Excellent in the interview.

      Note:

      iii. Passed A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and obtain at least Grade C in any three (3) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics

      OR

      iv. Passed the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 26 and obtain at least score 5 in any two (2) of the following subjects at High Level (HL) and one (1) at Standard Level (SL):

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics

      OR

      v. Passed AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate of 55 and obtain at least Grade C in any three (3) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics

      AND

      vi. Passed the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or its equivalent with a Credit in any one (1) of the following subjects:

      • Science
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Applied Science

      AND

      vii. Achieved Credit in both English and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics at the SPM level or equivalent.

      AND

      viii. Attained at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET), or a minimum score of 5.5 in IELTS, or a minimum score of 515/215/80 in TOEFL.

      AND

      ix. Excellent in the interview.

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C (NGMP 2.00) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics T

      DAN

      iii. Lulus Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) atau setara dengan mendapat kepujian dalam mana-mana satu (1) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Science
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Applied Science

      DAN

      iv. Mendapat kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggeris dan Mathematics / Additional Mathematics di peringkat SPM atau setara.

      Lulus International Baccalaureate (IB) dengan memperolehi minimum skor 26 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya skor 5 dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran di peringkat High Level (HL) dan satu (1) mata pelajaran di peringkat Standard Level (SL) berikut:

      Lulus AUSMAT/SAM dengan memperolehi minimum agregat 55 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana tiga (3) mata pelajaran berikut:
