OVERVIEW

The main purpose of the programme is to impart knowledge in general nutrition with the focus on human nutrition and community nutrition that are relevant to the Malaysian context. It aims to produce versatile graduates to fulfil the needs of the discipline, the healthcare profession and the future job market. The programme employs a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and learning, and the school consists of academically qualified people in the fields of nutrition, dietetics, food science, basic sciences, medicine, social sciences, management, and community services. Students are exposed to various aspects of foods, nutrient requirements, dietary intake, assessment of nutritional status, healthy eating and lifelong nutrition. Students will also experience laboratory work in food preparation and food analysis and at the same time, they will be carrying out fieldwork to evaluate nutrition and health status in the community. The final year students will conduct a research project and write a dissertation. The mode of teaching and learning includes lectures, practical, fieldwork, seminars, self-study, e-learning and individual supervision.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM	KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)	Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
STPM: i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 AND ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics T AND iii. Achieved at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.	KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM): i. Passed Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 AND ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (CGPA 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics AND iii. Achieved at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.	Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others: Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 OR A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and at least a Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 24 and at least a score of 4 at the High Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate score of 45 and at least a Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University. AND Achieve at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or its equivalent.

Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (NGMP 2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics T DAN iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf.	Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM: i. Lulus Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00 DAN ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics DAN iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf.	Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain: Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 2.75 ATAU Lulus A-Level dengan memperolehi minimum skor 10 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Lulus International Baccalaureate (IB) dengan memperolehi minimum skor 24 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya skor 4 di peringkat High Level (HL) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Lulus AUSMAT/SAM dengan memperolehi minimum agregat 45 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Mempunyai kelulusan lain yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya dan diperakukan oleh Senat Universiti.
