OVERVIEW

Speech pathology is a health science profession that deals with the identification, assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and management of communication disorders (disorders of language, speech sounds, fluency, and voice) and swallowing problems.

This is a 4-year professional programme that provides students with theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in speech pathology. Students will undertake programme core courses that cover topics on communication sciences and disorders, medical and health sciences, linguistics, education, psychology, and research, plus several elective and university courses. The students will also have to accumulate 400 clinical educational hours and 250 clinical contact hours during clinical years, i.e., from Year 2 to Year 4 and to complete a research project during the final year.

REQUIREMENTS

STPM	KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)	Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
STPM: i. Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 AND ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (GPA 2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics T AND iii. Achieved at least Level 3 (Band 3) in MUET or an equivalent qualification. AND iv. Excellent in the interview.	KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM): i. Passed Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Studies at UM / UKM / UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 AND ii. Obtained at least a Grade C+ (2.33) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics AND iii. Achieved at least Level 3 (Band 3) in MUET or an equivalent qualification. AND iv. Excellent in the interview.	Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others: Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 OR Passed A-Level with a minimum score of 10 and at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR Passed the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 24 and at least a score of 4 at the Higher Level (HL) in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR Passed AUSMAT/SAM with a minimum aggregate of 45 and at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects: Biology Chemistry Physics / Mathematics OR Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University. AND Achieve at least Level 3 (Band 3) in MUET or an equivalent qualification. AND Excellent in the interview.

STPM: i. Lulus Peperiksaan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00 DAN ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (NGMP 2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics T DAN iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf. DAN iv. Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.	Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM: i. Lulus Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00 DAN ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C+ (2.33) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics DAN iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf. DAN iv. Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.	Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain: Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 2.75 ATAU Lulus A-Level dengan memperolehi minimum skor 10 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Lulus International Baccalaureate (IB) dengan memperolehi minimum skor 24 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya skor 4 di peringkat High Level (HL) dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Lulus AUSMAT/SAM dengan memperolehi minimum agregat 45 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: • Biology • Chemistry • Physics / Mathematics ATAU Mempunyai kelulusan lain yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya dan diperakukan oleh Senat Universiti. DAN Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3 (Band 3) dalam MUET atau setaraf. DAN Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.
