DIPLOMA IN NURSING

  • OVERVIEW

    The Diploma in Nursing Program at Universiti Sains Malaysia provides theoretical knowledge and clinical training in nursing sciences, behavioral sciences, biological sciences, and clinical experiences in the field of nursing. The curriculum of this program emphasizes interactive teaching and learning, alongside exposure to clinical settings at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital and clinics under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, following the academic standards set by the Malaysian Nursing Board. This program produces graduates who will become safe, responsible, and ethical practitioners dedicated to advancing the nursing profession.

      GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (ENGLISH VERSION):
      • Pass SPM / or equivalent
      • Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (July Paper)
      • Pass in the subject of History
      GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (MALAY VERSION):

      • Lulus SPM/ Setaraf
      • Kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu Kertas Julai
      • Lulus dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah
    • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (ENGLISH VERSION)SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (MALAY VERSION)
      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (ENGLISH VERSION):

      i. Pass SPM / SPMV with five (5) Credits:

      • Credit in the subjects of Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mathematics / Additional Mathematics.
      • Credit in any one (1) of the following subjects:
        • Science
        • Biology
        • Chemistry
        • Physics
        • Applied Science
      • Credit in any other one (1) subject.

      AND

      ii. Excel in the interview assessment.

      Note:

      Candidates must meet the following health status requirements:

      • All candidates must be certified healthy by a registered medical officer within one month of joining the nursing program.

      • Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the nursing program if they have any of the following health issues:
        • HIV / AIDS
        • Hepatitis B
        • Hepatitis C
        • Mental health issues
        • Epilepsy
        • Color blindness

      • Candidates should not have any physical or sensory disabilities that may hinder performing nursing skills.
      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (MALAY VERSION):

      i. Lulus SPM / SPMV dengan lima (5) Kepujian :

      • Mendapat Kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris dan Matematik / Matematik Tambahan.
      • Mendapat Kepujian dalam mana-mana satu (1) mata pelajaran berikut :

                • Sains
                • Biologi
                • Kimia
                • Fizik
                • Sains Gunaan / Applied Science

      • Mendapat Kepujian dalam mana-mana satu (1) mata pelajaran lain.

      DAN


      ii. Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.

       

      Nota :

      Calon perlu memenuhi syarat status kesihatan berikut : 

      • Semua calon mesti disahkan sihat oleh Pegawai Perubatan Berdaftar dalam masa satu bulan daripada mengikuti program kejururawatan.

      • Calon tidak dibenarkan mengikuti program kejururawatan jika mempunyai masalah kesihatan berikut :
      - HIV / AIDS
      - Hepatitis B
      - Hepatitis C
      - Masalah kesihatan mental
      - Epilepsi
      - Buta warna

      • Calon tidak mempunyai sebarang ketidakupayaan fizikal atau ketidakupayaan deria yang boleh menghalang dalam melakukan kemahiran kejururawatan.
