ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN RENAL NURSING

  • OVERVIEW

    The Advanced Diploma Program in Renal Nursing aims to produce registered nurses who are competent, safe in nursing practice, ethical, and professional to meet the nation's demand for skilled personnel in renal nursing.

    This full-time program is conducted at the Health Campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. Teaching and learning activities include lectures, practical training, hands-on practice, e-learning, research projects, and professional visits to various relevant sites.

    Students will also be exposed to structured methods for writing reports, case studies, reviews, and research findings. They will undergo 24 weeks of practical training at Hospital USM, selected hemodialysis treatment centers within and outside Kelantan, or abroad. Additionally, students will participate in professional visits as required by the program.

      Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or a Credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia (July Paper) and a Pass in History; AND
      GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (MALAY VERSION):

      Lulus Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/Setaraf dengan mendapat kepujian dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia atau kepujian Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia Kertas Julai dan Lulus dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah; DAN

      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (ENGLISH VERSION):

      For Malaysian Citizens:

      • Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
      • Be registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
      • Hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for Nurses.
      • Have a minimum of two (2) years of clinical work experience.

      For International Candidates:

      • Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
      • Be registered with the Nursing Board/Authority in their home country.
      • Hold a current Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) from the Malaysian Nursing Board (LJM) before clinical placement.
      • Have a minimum of two (2) years of clinical work experience.
      • Have a minimum of three (3) months of clinical work experience in a related field (Hemodialysis, CAPD, kidney transplant, etc.).
      • Passed IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 / TOEFL with a minimum score of 515 / 215 / 80.

      Note:

      Candidates must meet the following health status requirements:

      • All candidates must be certified healthy by a registered medical officer within one month of enrolling in the nursing program.

      • Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the nursing program if they have any of the following health issues:

        • HIV / AIDS
        • Hepatitis B
        • Hepatitis C
        • Mental health issues
        • Epilepsy
        • Color blindness

      • Candidates should not have any physical or sensory disabilities that may hinder performing nursing skills.
      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (MALAY VERSION):

      Untuk Calon Warganegara Malaysia

      • Memiliki Diploma/Sarjana Muda Kejururawatan daripada institusi yang diiktiraf.
      • Berdaftar dengan Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia.
      • Memiliki Sijil Amalan Tahunan (APC) terkini untuk Jururawat.
      • Minimum dua (2) tahun pengalaman kerja klinikal.


      Untuk Calon Antarabangsa

      • Memiliki Diploma/Sarjana Muda Kejururawatan daripada institusi yang diiktiraf.
      • Berdaftar dengan Lembaga / Badan Kejururawatan negara asal calon.
      • Memiliki Sijil Amalan Sementara (TPC) terkini dari LJM sebelum penempatan klinikal.
      • Minimum dua (2) tahun pengalaman kerja klinikal.
      • Minimum tiga (3) bulan pengalaman kerja klinikal dalam bidang berkaitan (Hemodialisis atau CAPD atau pemindahan buah pinggang dan sebagainya)
      • Lulus IELTS skor minimum 5.5 / TOEFL dengan skor minimum 515 / 215 / 80.

       

      Nota :

      Calon perlu memenuhi syarat status kesihatan berikut :

      • Semua calon mesti disahkan sihat oleh Pegawai Perubatan Berdaftar dalam masa satu bulan daripada mengikuti program kejururawatan.

      • Calon tidak dibenarkan mengikuti program kejururawatan jika mempunyai masalah kesihatan berikut :
      - HIV / AIDS
      - Hepatitis B
      - Hepatitis C
      - Masalah kesihatan mental
      - Epilepsi
      - Buta warna

      • Calon tidak mempunyai sebarang ketidakupayaan fizikal atau ketidakupayaan deria yang boleh menghalang dalam melakukan kemahiran kejururawatan.
