INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL PROGRAMME (IMP) USM-KLE

  • The School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) introduced its Medical programme in 1979. 30 years later in 2010 has established an offshore campus in Belgaum, Bangalore, India in collaboration with KLE University. USM-KLE International Medical Programme is conducted at the new and sophisticated academic complex situated beside Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC). It is equipped with modern lecture halls, laboratories, tutorial rooms and a library. This complex will have its own hospital equipped with 500 beds for training purposes. This program will also make use of neighboring hospitals and clinics that are available. All students will be housed in the hostels in the campus which is fully equipped with facilities such as a recreational stadium, IT, bank and cafeterias. Belgaum is located near Goa and it is also not far away from Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore. It has a moderate climate and is surrounded by agricultural land. Upon completion of their studies, students will be awarded the USM M.D. This is a locally accredited USM Medical Degree program conducted overseas and is customized to the needs of the medical career in Malaysia. Students will be trained by qualified and experienced lecturers and specialists in India.
