  • OVERVIEW

    The Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Media Design and Technology with Honours at the School of The Arts, USM is an exciting program that prepares students for a career in the rapidly evolving field of digital media. This program is designed to develop students' creative and technical skills to produce innovative and engaging digital media content.

    Throughout the program, students will learn how to create interactive websites, mobile applications, virtual and augmented reality experiences, animations, and more. They will also learn about user experience design, programming languages, digital media production, and emerging technologies.

    At the School of The Arts, USM, students benefit from a dynamic and collaborative learning environment and access to cutting-edge technology and facilities, including computer labs, digital media production studios, and exhibition spaces. The program is taught by experienced faculty members who are experts in the field of digital media and are dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.

    Graduates of the program are well-equipped to pursue careers in a wide range of industries, including advertising, marketing, gaming, education, and entertainment. They can work as web and app developers, UX designers, multimedia specialists, digital media producers, and more.       MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
      MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

      ACADEMIC 

      • Completed 12 years of Primary and High School Education and
      • Obtained High School Certificate (eg. A‐Level, HSC, SMU, & Matayom Suksa 6 (Thailand), International Baccalaureate ) or
      • Diploma in related field

      ENGLISH 

      • IELTS/IELTS Online minimum Band 5.0 or
      • TOEFL iBT minimum score of 40 or
      • TOEFL Essentials Online minimum score of 7.5 or
      • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) minimum score of 154 or
      • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) minimum score of 154 or
      • Cambridge English: Linguaskill Online minimum score of 154 or
      • PTE Academic / PTE Academic (Online) minimum score of 47 or
      • ELS Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) 107 or
      • Malaysian University English Test minimum Band 3.5 

      Without any of the above English proficiency certificates, accepted students will be issue with a conditional offer letter to fulfill the English language requirements.

      Candidates must undergo an interview session before being accepted by the respective faculty

      Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.67 

      And 

      Minimum grade C in any 2 subjects 

      Note: Grading system is referred to each country academics qualifications
      DIPLOMA / A-LEVEL, IB, AUSMAT,SAM & OTHERS:

      Obtained Diploma in related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.67 

      And 

      Provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 ½ years in the same accredited institution. 

      And 

      Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.67 

      And

      Minimum grade C in any 2 subjects

      ‘A’ LEVEL CANDIDATES
      (AQA, Brunei, Cambridge, Edexcel, London, Maldives)

      • ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level result slip and certificates
      • Passed ‘A’ Level with minimum score of  9 and minimum grade C in any 2 subjects
         

      AUSTRALIAN HIGH SCHOOL CANDIDATES

      Passed SAM / AUSMAT with minimum aggregate of 68 and the equivalent of C in any 2 subjects
       

      INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) DIPLOMA CANDIDATES

      • Passed IB diploma with 26 points
      • Minimum of 4 score at High Level (HL) in any 2 subjects 1 subject at Standard Level (SL)
