OVERVIEW
This program is designed to meet the nation's need to produce competent and knowledgeable graduates equipped with relevant language and literary skills, enabling them to adapt effectively to societal demands and global changes, particularly in the field of English. The program aims to cultivate graduates with effective communication, leadership, and innovative skills to achieve international excellence through efficient knowledge dissemination, a culture of quality emphasizing academic and professional excellence, holistic personal development, and a strong commitment to the aspirations of both local and international communities.
Course Objectives:
To produce graduates who:
✓ Are competent and knowledgeable in English.
✓ Have a strong understanding of linguistics as a field of study (e.g., phonetics and phonology, semantics, syntax, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, etc.).
✓ Are equipped with relevant literary skills to appreciate, analyze, discuss, and evaluate various types of texts and literary discourses.
✓ Possess knowledge of different varieties of English (e.g., genre, register, dialect).
✓ Are equipped with relevant generic skills (e.g., communication skills, problem-solving skills, IT skills, learning skills, teamwork, time management, interpersonal skills), critical and creative thinking, and intellectual skills (to synthesize, analyze, and evaluate information and ideas).School of Humanities

MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:ACADEMIC
- Completed 12 years of Primary and High School Education and
- Obtained High School Certificate (eg. A‐Level, HSC, SMU, & Matayom Suksa 6 (Thailand), International Baccalaureate ) or
- Diploma in related field
ENGLISH
- IELTS/ IELTS Online minimum Band 6.0 or
- TOEFL iBT minimum score of 60 or
- TOEFL Essentials Online minimum score of 8.5 or
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) minimum score of 169 or
- Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) minimum score of 169 or
- Cambridge English: Linguaskill Online minimum score of 169 or
- PTE Academic / PTE Academic (Online) minimum score of 59 or
- ELS Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) 109 or
- Malaysian University English Test minimum Band 4.0 or
- Candidate from countries where English is the official language
- Excluded for candidates who have graduated from universities in the United Kingdm, Australia, United States, Canada and New Zealand only.
Without any of the above English proficiency certificates, accepted students will be issued with a conditional offer letter to fulfill the English language requirements.
INTERVIEW
Candidates must undergo an interview session before being accepted by the respective faculty

Provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 ½ years in the same accredited institution.
And
Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.67
And
Minimum grade B in subjects below:

Passed SAM / AUSMAT with minimum aggregate of 68 and the equivalent of B in subjects below:

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) DIPLOMA CANDIDATES
- Passed IB diploma with 26 points
- Minimum of 6 score at High Level (HL) in subject below:
- Language A1
