  • OVERVIEW

    The Building Engineering Technology program at Universiti Sains Malaysia, accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC) under the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), integrates engineering, technology, and sustainable design to prepare graduates for dynamic roles in the built environment industry. The curriculum emphasizes sustainability, equipping students with knowledge of green building practices, energy-efficient technologies, and innovative solutions to environmental challenges. Students gain practical skills through laboratory work, site visits, real-world projects, and internships. Cutting-edge tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced construction techniques are integral to the program, ensuring students are industry-ready. ETAC accreditation qualifies graduates to register as Engineering Technologists, enhancing their career prospects locally and internationally while fostering sustainable and innovative contributions to the construction sector.

    • MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
      MINIMUM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

      ACADEMIC 

      • Completed 12 years of Primary and High School Education and
      • Obtained High School Certificate (eg. A‐Level, HSC, SMU, & Matayom Suksa 6 (Thailand), International Baccalaureate ) or
      • Diploma in related field 

      ENGLISH 

      • IELTS/ IELTS Online minimum Band 5.0 or
      • TOEFL iBT minimum score of 40 or
      • TOEFL Essentials Online minimum score of 5 or
      • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) minimum score of 154 or
      • Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) minimum score of 154 or
      • Cambridge English: Linguaskill Online minimum score of 154 or
      • PTE Academic / PTE Academic (Online) minimum score of 47 or
      • ELS Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) 107 or
      • Malaysian University English Test minimum Band 3.5
      • Candidate from an institution in which the medium of instruction is English 

      Without any of the above English proficiency certificates, accepted students will be issued with a conditional offer letter to fulfill the English language requirements. 

      INTERVIEW

      Candidates must undergo an interview session before being accepted by the respective faculty 

      Note: Candidate do not have visual impairment (color blind) and do not have physical disability making it difficult for practical work.

      Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.75

      Obtained Diploma in related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.75 

      And 

      Provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 ½ years in the same accredited institution. 

      And 

      Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.75 and minimum grade B in any 2 subjects below:

      ‘A’ LEVEL CANDIDATES

      AUSTRALIAN HIGH SCHOOL CANDIDATES

      Passed AUSMAT/SAM with a  minimum aggregate of 45 and achieved at least Grade C in any two (2) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Mathematics Studies
      • Specialist Mathematics
      • Information Technology Studies
      • Computer Science 

      INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) DIPLOMA CANDIDATES

      • Passed International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum score of 28 and achieved a minimum score of 4 in any two (2) of the following subjects in High Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL):
        • Mathematics
        • Biology
        • Chemistry
        • Physics
        • Design Technology
        • Environmental System & Societies
        • Mathematical Studies 

      OR

      Possessed other qualification recognised to be equivalent and approved by University Senate
