  • OVERVIEW

    The Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics and Economics is a unique double major programme offered by the School of Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. This interdisciplinary programme prepares the students to think across boundaries of Mathematics and train them to be able to compete in a real-world situation. Students are given training in combining and relating Mathematics and Statistics to the field of Economics. Computer skills in analyzing economic and financial data and skills in making informed decisions are also developed to a high level of sophistication.

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
      STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the following subjects:

      • Mathematics T / Mathematics M
      • Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Information and Communication Technology (ICT) / Malay Language / History / Geography / Economics / Malay Literature Communication / Business Studies / Accounting
      KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Passed the KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the following subjects:

      • Mathematics
      • Physics / Biology / Chemistry / Business Management / Economics / Accounting / Financial Accounting / Management Accounting / Business and Technology
      Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others:

      Diploma in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

      OR

      Equivalent qualification recognized by Senate of the University.
    • STPMMatrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTMDiploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain
      STPM:

      i. Lulus Peperiksaan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B (NGMP 3.00) dalam mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Mathematics T / Mathematics M
      • Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Information And Communication Technology (ICT) / Bahasa Melayu / Sejarah / Geografi / Ekonomi / Kesusasteraan Melayu Komunikatif / Pengajian Perniagaan / Perakaunan
      Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM:

      i. Lulus Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B (3.00) dalam mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Mathematics
      • Physics / Biology / Chemistry / Pengurusan Perniagaan / Ekonomi / Accounting / Financial Accounting / Management Accounting / Business and Technology
      Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain:

      Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00.
