  • OVERVIEW

    The DDS programme is a five-year programme. Its curriculum is integrated, problem-based and community oriented.

    Year 1 : Basic Foundation in Medical and Dental Sciences
    Year 2 : Pre-Clinical Dental and Medical Sciences & Medical Clinical Sciences
    Year 3, 4 & 5 : Dental Clinical Sciences, Community Engagement & Research

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • STPMKPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM)Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others
      STPM:

      i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination with a minimum CGPA of 3.50

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least a Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics T

      AND

      iii. Achieved at least Grade B in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) for the following five (5) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • One (1) other subject (excluding Art / Islamic Studies Skills - KSI)

      AND

      iv. Attained at least Band 3.5 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent.

      AND

      v. Excellent in the interview.
      KPM Matriculation / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM):

      i. Passed Matriculation (KPM) / Foundation Studies (UM/UKM/UiTM) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50

      AND

      ii. Obtained at least Grade B (CGPA 3.00) in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      AND

      iii. Achieved at least Grade B in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) for the following five (5) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • One (1) other subject (excluding Art / Islamic Studies Skills - KSI)

      AND

      iv. Attained at least Band 3.5 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent.

      AND

      v. Excellent in the interview.
      Diploma / Equivalent – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM, and others:

      Diploma in Health Sciences or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 3.50

      And

      The program must consist of at least 5 semesters or 2½ years at the same institution.

      And

      Achieved at least Grade B in two (2) of the following SPM subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics

      And

      Obtained at least a Credit in three (3) SPM subjects:

      • English
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • One (1) other subject

      OR

      A-Level with grades BBB, ABC, or AAC in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      New Zealand University Entrance, Bursaries & Scholarship Examination Candidates

      National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 / New Zealand Bursary
      Pass with a minimum average of 80% in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Australian High School Candidates

      Monash University Foundation Pre-University Program (MUFY) / University of New South Wales (UNSW) Foundation / Western Australia Curriculum Council / HSC Sydney Australia / Trinity College Foundation Studies or other Australian University Foundation Programs / South Australian Matriculation (SAM) / Victorian Certificate of Education, Australia Year 12 or equivalent.

      Passed with a minimum average of 80% or equivalent to Grade B in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      Or

      ATAR 80% including the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Indian Pre-University Candidates

      Passed with a minimum average of 70% or equivalent to Grade B in any three (3) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme

      Achieved a minimum overall score of 30

      And

      Obtained at least score 5 in any three (3) of the following subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      With a minimum of 2 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 1 subject at Standard Level (SL)

      OR

      Canadian Pre-University (CPU) or Canadian International Matriculation Program (CIMP) / Canadian Grade 12/13

      Passed with a minimum average of 80% in the following three (3) subjects:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      OR

      Degree Holders

      i. Medical Science Degree (MBBS or equivalent)

      Achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.00

      And

      Passed a “bridging course” at Year 2 level before entering Year 3.

      Note: Candidates may be exempted from the first year (direct entry to Year 2) and may also receive exemptions for other related courses (e.g., Basic Medical Sciences, General Surgery, and General Medicine).

      OR

      ii. Science / Life Science Degree

      Achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.00

      OR

      iii. Arts or Humanities Degree

      Achieved a minimum CGPA of 4.00

      AND

       

      Obtained at least Band 3.5 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent.

      AND

      Excellent in the interview.
    • STPMMatrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTMDiploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain
      STPM:

      i. Lulus Peperiksaan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.50

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B (NGMP 3.00) dalam tiga (3) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics T

      DAN

      iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B pada peringkat SPM dalam lima (5) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • Satu (1) mata pelajaran lain kecuali Seni / KSI

      DAN

      iv. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3.5 (Band 3.5) dalam MUET atau setaraf.

      DAN

      v. Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.
      Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM:

      i. Lulus Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.50

      DAN

      ii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B (3.00) dalam (3) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics / Mathematics

      DAN

      iii. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B pada peringkat SPM dalam lima (5) mata pelajaran berikut:

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • Satu (1) mata pelajaran lain kecuali Seni / KSI

      DAN

      iv. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 3.5 (Band 3.5) dalam MUET atau setaraf.

      v. Cemerlang dalam penilaian temu duga.
      Diploma / Setaraf – A-Level, IB, AUSMAT, SAM dan lain-lain:

      Memiliki Diploma dalam bidang Sains Kesihatan atau yang berkaitan dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.50 

      Dan 

      Dengan syarat kursus tidak kurang daripada 5 semester atau 2 ½ tahun di Institusi yang sama. 

      Dan 

      Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred B pada peringkat SPM dalam mana-mana dua (2) mata pelajaran berikut: 

      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics 

      Dan 

      Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Kepujian pada peringkat SPM dalam tiga (3) mata pelajaran berikut: 

      • Bahasa Inggeris
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • Satu (1) mata pelajaran lain  

      ATAU 

      Lulus A-Level dengan mendapat  Gred BBB, ABC atau AAC dalam tiga (3) mata pelajaran berikut : 

      • Biology
